Rice A Roni...

Last Saturday, Jake and I embarked on an amazing vacation.  We went to San Francisco for an over night stay before heading on to Maui.  We loved every minute of it.  The Price's and us explored the area for 24 hours.  We ate the most amazing chowder, rode the cable cars, walked up the biggest freaking hill (just ask my glutes), checked out fisherman's warf and San Francisco port and Jake and I even ran across the Golden Gate Bridge and back.  This run was suppose to be a simple 3 mile run.  It turned out to be an 8 mile mostly up-hill into a strong head wind run.  But I wouldn't change a thing about this short visit.  In fact, I can't wait to go back to the treat.

Exotic taste buds!

For those of you who know me, even just an acquaintance, know that Jake and I are "particular" eaters.  Well, the last time we went to New York Jake got crazy and tried some Indian food.  He was hooked!  He has sense been debating on whether or not to try some here in Wichita.  The other night he got some as take out and brought it home.  It was called Chicken Vindaloo.  He liked it and even more bizarre...I tried it and liked it!  So, last night, Jake wanted to get some again.  I told him I would get what he had and he decided to try something new, Chicken Spinach.  Here is where the evening gets exciting.  Jake opened his up and the first thing you hear is me, Owen and Allison all making disgusted noises.  Then out of the blue, Allie decides she wants to try it.  Even though Owen announced that it resembled Swamp Goo, she took a sample from daddy's fork.  She chewed it over a little then declared, "Good!"  Turning to daddy she demands, "More, Now!"  This went on until there wasn't much left.  I would like to add, Owen and I stood our ground.  It DID look like Swamp Goo!  We didn't try any.

Always my baby sister!

I love watching my kids play together.  It reminds me of my childhood with me and my little sister.  Spending the hours just the two of us and our imagination.  Adventures, dreams and wishes always made a boring afternoon something memorable.  To this day, the two of us will just be sitting there and suddenly something will spark a lost memory and the next thing we know the laughing won't stop.  My baby sister turned 30 yesterday!  Some would be down that they are getting old, but not me.  I am so proud of the woman she is becoming.  The older we get, the better our relationship grows.  So when I watch my kids play together, I smile and hope that someday they are as lucky as we are.

Christmas-Part 4

Every princess needs a castle.
Big Pirate Adventure!
Owen picked out this baby doll on his own.  She LOVES it!
Three new Snap N Style dolls, YEAH!
Rainforest Jungle, TOO!

Yesterday we celebrated "Southern New Year" and had our 4th and final Christmas.  We ate our traditional meal for all the good stuff to get this coming year.  Then we rested in the living room while everyone unwrapped presents.  Owen was so excited to finally get to open some elusive gifts that has sat on our floor since the first of December.  As he so smoothly said, "Lets open my presents and we'll skip the rest!"  As you can see from the pictures, our kids had an amazing Christmas (all 4!).  But the best gift of all was the quality time we got to spend with ALL of our family.  This year has been the best Christmas, so far...
