Moving Mountains

This spring I was fortunate to co-lead a small group of women during the AM book study, "Moving Mountains".  It was a fun experience since I did it with the lady who was the leader of my fall and winter small group.  Today was the last day of it, so we HAD to get a group picture.  One of the ladies wasn't there, but this was the core members.  I have agreed to do it again next year, hopefully with Becky as my co-leader again.

Hutton Spring Fling

May 17th was Allie's school Spring Fling.  It is very similar Family Fun Night that was held at Wheatland Elementary.  There were several food trucks, many bounce houses and a cake walk.  After we ate dinner in the cafeteria, Allie went off with her friends.  I talked to a family and people watched.  We did the cake walk 2 times with no prizes.  We decided to find Allie, do the cake walk one more time and then head home.  I WON!!!  The cake was made by a 3rd grader, but it was fun to say I won!!!

Listen To Your Mother

This Mother's Day, I went to a forum with some other medical wives to hear 10 women speak about motherhood.  Some spoke of their own moms, mother-in-laws, miscarriages, fostering, etc.  The evening started with dinner and ended with laughter.  Next year will apparently be the 10th year they have put this on, but also the last.  Women are invited to write their personal story and send it in to be selected to speak next year.  I just might have a story to share...we shall see.

Jason Brotsky

We have a family that has become very close to us in the last 2 years.  The Brotsky's are very similar to us and we ALL get along very well.  Even our kids have fun together.

Jason came to visit us from May 13-17.  Jake was on vacation that week, so they were able to go on fun adventures.  They went to yoga, dog park, on a day fishing trip in Idaho, rode on the lime scooters and hiked on Mt. Spokane ending the day with sushi for dinner.  The weather was perfect, the stay was the right length of time.  It was a good time had by all.

Brown, Purple and Blue

Allie has been toying with the idea of coloring her hair for almost a year now.  I told her I would schedule it at my hair salon.  It happened on May 10th.

 First they had to bleach out the bottom section of her hair.  That way it would take the color better.

I can't believe how long it looked.

 Then we colored the blue section first.

 Followed by the purple section.

Now we wait for it to take.  The whole process took about 3 hours!!

Her hair looks SO COOL!!!

 And that smile makes it all worth it!!

Daddy-to-be

Before you get all excited, let me specify that I'm talking about our dog Yawkey.

Here is the back story.  Jake had taken the dogs to the park and was approached by a man who loved Yawkey.  He mentioned that he wanted to try and breed puppies with his red Labrador, Cinnamon.  Jake and I talked about it and decided to give it a try.  So a week later, a "date" was arranged.

Jake took Yawkey to this guy's house.  The dogs mingled and fulfilled the act to potentially make puppies.  Jake took Yawkey back a few days later to make sure it was successful, but she wasn't interested.  Then we waited.

A few weeks ago we get a text letting us know that Cinnamon had been acting differently and would be having a sonogram done to verify puppies were on the way.  The sonogram was done, puppies confirmed and will be born around June 11.  So our Yawkey will be a daddy.

We've been invited to see the puppies when they are born.  Which we can't wait to see them, we just won't be taking one home with us.

Busy Weekend

This past weekend was a busy, but AWESOME weekend.

Friday-I got a new yoga outfit!

Jake and I went on a date.  We had dinner at a new place called "Lantern Tap House", we will be going back!  Then we attended a fundraiser for The Jonah Project, "Buy Art, Not People".  We got this amazing painting that was done on a vinyl record.

Saturday-Allie and I went to the Lewis & Clark performance of "Xanadu".  I've always loved the movie, but these students were AMAZING!!!  We will be going to more of these!

Sunday-Allie and I attended the Lilac Tea Party.  We dressed up and went.  It was a fun experience, even if neither of us are really the "princess" type.

That night, all 5 of us went to see Jim Gaffigan.  It was SO HYSTERICAL!!!!  This was the first comedy show the kids have seen.
