Pre-K, Day 1

Today was Owen's first day of Pre-K.  I took his picture in the same place as last year, my how much he has grown in one year.  Allie so badly wanted to be like him, that she grabbed a bag, put her binkies in it and sat down by brother.

Owen will be going 5 days a week in the morning.  He was so excited that he walked a few steps in front of me the whole way.  There are 18 kids in his class, some that were in his class last year.  He told his teacher when I picked him up that he would see her tomorrow.  He then told me about a new friend he met in class, he can't remember his name.  This little boy was crying for his mommy, until Owen started talking to him.  That's my little man!

Moving on up!

On Saturday, Jake went and bought the hermit crabs a larger tank.  He set it all up and even included two bigger shells.  The crabs loved their new digs.  They walked all around the place.  The very next day I walked into Owen's room and happened to look in the tank and saw that Turnie had moved out of his painted shell and into a nice big shell.  Everyone in our house is getting so big!

Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles

Owen starts school on Monday! So to end our summer of fun, we had a bubble bath tonight. I don't do them often, since it is almost impossible to bath two kids covered in bubbles. However, as you can see, they had the time of their life.

Picaso, take 2

Today during "quiet time", my artistic son thought he should decorate the wall in his bedroom.  Lucky for me, he only used stickers.  He explained that he used ocean stickers, because his room is the ocean room.  Makes sense to me!

Picaso

When we were out to dinner a while back, the kids were getting restless waiting for their food.  So I gave Owen a pen and piece of paper to "draw" on.  Up until now it has always been scribbles and wiggle lines.  He carefully took his time and when he was done, he looked up at daddy and me and said,"What do you think of my moose?"  I was speechless!  You can actually see the moose.  I was so proud of his artistic skill and ability to complete his picture.  I carry it my purse where ever I go.  If you happen to see me, ask and I will enthusiastically show it off.

So Big!

Owen and Allison had their first over night without Mommy or Daddy, and not at home!  This past Friday we dropped the kids off at Papa George and Gramma Karen's house in Topeka then headed on to KC for a concert.  Neither kid slept on the way up there, but totally perked up when they saw the basket of toys that was waiting for them when we walked into their house.  The report went like this.  "We went to the zoo.  We went to the park.  We rode the train and I blew the whistle.  We rode the carousel.  I went two times.  Allison only went once.  It was fun."  Both kids slept through the night and were happy to see Mommy and Daddy the next day.  Looks like our babies are getting big!
