Somebody is VERY PROUD of herself. During our MOPS class this morning she was wiggling it. She announced it was REALLY loose. This got the attention of all the other kids. I started to talk to her about just pulling it out and she responded with some fussing. So I just left her alone. Next thing I see, she is showing two other kids and talking about how it needs to come out soon for the big one to come in. Not 2 minutes later, she comes running to me with the tooth between her fingers and a grin from ear to ear. I was so fortunate to be there to witness this. I even made a short video of the kids reacting to her right after it came out. She was quite the celebrity!

Girls play SOCCER!
Allison and Coach
Yep! Spring soccer season has started at the YMCA. But this time, it's Allison's turn to show her skills. She's been waiting for this for over 2 years!!! And to make her even happier, Mommy is her Coach. Yeah, you read that right. I agreed to coach her Pre-K soccer team. I don't really know much about the game, so I should fit in real well with my players. My team is made up of Allie and 5 other kids we just met (one girl and 4 boys). The parents are good, the kids are excited and we actually made a few goals during our first game. (Notice I didn't say WIN. They don't keep score in Pre-K. There isn't even a goalie. But we did score a few.) I'm sure this season will be a learning experience for ALL involved.

Time to Breathe.
This is how I feel today. It is Friday. I made it through a BUSY week. We are leaving tomorrow morning for our Spring Break, to Boston!!! I've been so crazy, I HAVEN'T EVEN PACKED YET!!! For those of you who know me, know that this is TOTALLY out of character. But instead of taking the next 30 free minutes to do that, I will catch the world up on the Arnetts from the week.
Remodeling-Master Shower
We built our house in 2007. It's our "dream house". We love EVERYTHING about this home... except the master shower. My husband has never been completely satisfies with the shaky door and the stark white plastic pan. I didn't like the fact that water was slowly leaking out and rotting the base board and making the tile yucky! So we decided to hire a contractor and remodel. We've been VERY lucky! The guy is amazing. His workers are punctual and very motivated to get the job done quickly and right the first time. So on Monday morning my adventure began with the delivery of the new shower pan. It's not done, but I thought I would share photos of the phases that have been done this week.
Before (UGLY)
They still need to come back and grout and then the new shower door will be installed. So those pics will have to happen after we return from our trip.
Yellow Belts
When you discover something your good at, you tend to excel quickly in it. For Owen, that has been Tae Kwon Do. In the last 2 weeks, he has earned 2 more yellow stripes. He is 1 away from all 4 stripes. He is very confident he can get that one quickly too.
Stripe 2
Allie isn't upset at all! If anything she is more motivated!!! She knows he's older than her. He is also only doing Tae Kwon Do. Allie is also doing dance, gymnastics and soon soccer (I'm her coach!!!). But none of this is an obstacle for her. She came home and asked me to start working with her. So we have been practicing about 30 minutes a day. This is a good thing. Because yesterday we saw the white board at the dojo. They post the names of kids who will be testing for the next belt at the end of the month. And look who the masters think will be ready?
We have TREES!!!
We have a BIG back yard. We love it! But recently we've been "discussing" the future of our backyard. The play equipment doesn't get as much play as it used to and it's looking rather shabby. So we decided our first step would be to plant some trees. This way we could have some shade and privacy in the future. The landscapers showed up and planted all 3 in less than an hour. It's been a few days and the trees have green leaves and white flowers already. It looks wonderful.

Second Grade-wax museum
Today was the second grade wax museum. Each student was given a famous American to do research on and present information on. They got to dress up and have props that related to the character they were portraying. There was a dot sticker on each student's hand. You would walk up and press this "button" then the character would begin reciting their script they had memorized about the person they were. It was AWESOME!!! We saw TONS of famous people.
Walt Disney (I thought looked more like Hitler.)

Even Score
Master David putting on Allie's yellow stripe.
Yep! Tonight at Tae Kwon Do, Allie received her first yellow stripe. I was so proud of her. She was so excited! She has been practicing every day this week, hoping and praying that today would be her day. And it was. It was so AWESOME! Almost as good as her getting it, was when she went back to sit on the mat Owen told her "good job" and gave her a thumbs up! Watch out, World! My Lil Dragons are moving up!!!
Loose Tooth? How about 2!!!!
She's very pleased!
You read that right! A few weeks ago I noticed that one of Allie's front bottom tooth was a little in front of the others. I told her I thought it might be loose. She was THRILLED!!! Then last week we went to the dentist and when the hygienist was checking her teeth she says, "Oh, you've got a loose tooth!" And just as I was about to say we thought so, she adds, "And so is it's neighbor tooth!" WHAT?? Sure enough, she showed me that BOTH front bottom teeth were loose. I wasn't sure if her mouth was ready for 2 missing teeth. Then tonight while I was helping the kids brush their teeth, I noticed that behind the original loose tooth was the top of her BIG TOOTH!!!! I guess ready or not, here come her ADULT TEETH!!! Check it out below!
The one on the right has the big tooth coming in right behind the baby tooth.
