Today it came! Allie is official not a baby anymore! We went shopping earlier this week and found the cutest white wooden twin bed. We bought it there on the spot. Yesterday, Allison and I went to Target to pick out sheet for the new bed. She chose Dora. She told me that Dora will keep her safe at night. (I hope so.) Here are a few pictures of the whole process.

Easter Fun Run
This morning I drove to the Sedgewick County Park on the west side, ready to do my first 10K. The weather was perfect! I met up with my good friend Angela and her mom (thanks for taking our picture). It was a really good trail. I just took my time and didn't over do it. In the end, I finished in 1:05:40. That's about 10 minute miles! It's a far cry from completing a whole marathon, but it is a start! Next on my list is the "Hospital Hill Run" in KC on June 6th. We'll see how that goes...
Thanks Easter Bunny!
Since Jake is Trauma Call on Sunday, the Easter Bunny brought the kids their Easter baskets today. It was almost as good as Christmas! They were so excited about what they had in their baskets. I had to leave shortly after the discovery to do the Easter Fun Run (previous blog entry). But I left two very happy children. Here are the "traditional" pictures of kids in their p.j.'s with their baskets of goodies.

Egg-cellent!
We thought that since Easter is just around the corner, we would color some eggs. It was the first time we've ever done it. It was quite the adventure. Owen and Allie liked guessing what color the dye was going to become. I think Allie was disappointed that we didn't have pink or purple. Next year I'll have to solve that problem. Owen was more excited about the Transformer stickers. Each one made 5 eggs. After dinner they got to pick one to eat and the rest went into the fridge for later. This is going to be a fun weekend!

OUCH!
Taken 3 hours after the accident.
This morning was just like every other morning, except for the emergency visit to the dentist. Let me back track. We were getting ready to take Owen to school and Allie was begging me to let her wear these flip flops that were too big for her feet. I didn't see the problem with it, and out the door we went. Once we got to school, Owen went running down the hallway past the Nursery. Allie started running too, but at the same time was trying to take her jacket off. So with her hands basically tied behind her back in her jacket, she trips in those darn flip flops. Everyone can imagine the next scene. Allie face plants on the carpet. Blood everywhere. Allie crying, but for once not passing out. Office personnel running out to assist and Owen starting to get worried. Lucky for me two other moms that I know were able to escort Owen to his classroom, someone brought me a bag of ice and I was out the door and on my way to the dentist. Dr. Brown, first time seeing him, was very nice. The nurse who took care of us the whole time was amazing, she even gave me a hug. Allie was a trouper! They took an x-ray and found out that the permanent tooth isn't damaged. But the front right tooth was very loose. It had been knocked back and up. We go back in two weeks and there is a 50% chance she'll lose the tooth. She always wanted to be first at something with Owen. Now she is!

IT'S BRITNEY!!!
This picture was taken by the "girl" next to me.
As most of you who know me know, I LOVE Britney Spears. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly, but I can't get enough of her. My wonderful husband accepts this and even plays into my obsession. About a month ago I got a text from him asking me if I would like to see her in concert. I replied that if he was teasing me to knock it off. Long story short, he wasn't and we got tickets and a hotel room for the concert. It was beyond my expectations! I knew it would be good, but I was blown away! Even Jake admitted he was impressed. I for see him downloading a few more Spears songs on his I-pod. Enjoy the pictures from that wonderful night. They don't do the evenings sights justice.
