Today I ran my first set of Yassos. I had to run 4. To figure out how fast to run them, I ran my fastest 5K and divided it by 3. So that gave me a pace of about 9 minutes. A Yasso is half a mile. So I ran one at that pace of 9:13 (or 6.5 on the treadmill). A soon as I hit the half mile mark I slowed down to a 12 minute pace for 4 minutes. Then repeated the process 4 times. It was interesting. I burned more calories than I normally do running the same distance (it ended up being 3.1 miles). But as far as how my body felt, I felt GREAT! Eventually I am suppose to work up to running 14 Yassos. We'll see how that goes!
