Picnic in the park

Today I packed lunch boxes and we took the T back to Boston Common Park for another day to see all the rest of the fun stuff to do there. We started with a picnic by Tadpole Playground. Owen loved feeding the birds some of our leftover bread! A squirrel even stole a Rolo from his lunch box. I'm not sure it was good for it, but it sure loved it!

After playing at the playground for a little while we walked past Frog Pond to this cute carousel. The kids liked riding it.

Then we walked across Charles Street to the Public Garden. We have read the book "Make Way For Ducklings" by Robert McCloskey several times. So of course we went for a Swan Boat ride. I had no idea that a guy was sitting in the swan area pedaling. It was a slow and peaceful ride. The trees here are amazing! I love weeping willows. They are everywhere and so BIG!

The kids were so good about all the walking we did today, especially Owen. So we got ice cream as a treat before getting back on the T and heading home.
